Help for the INTERPOLATION PANEL
****************************************
"Interpolation type" Menu Selection Button
-------------------------------------
Allows selection of the type of interpolation:
[Uniform]
Equal steps in all the interpolated parameters;
[Accelerate]
Increases the parameter step size from keyframes A
to B to create the impression of acceleration.
[Decelerate]
The reverse of [Acceleration].
[Acc/Dec]
The motion is split into two halves (an equal number
of frames for each): the motion first speeds up and
then slows down.
[Dec/Acc]
This is the reverse of [Acc/Dec]: the motion first
slows down and then speeds up.
"Number of steps" User Input Field
------------------------------
Insert the number of steps (frames), over which the interpolation between the
two Key Frames is to occur. For smooth motion, a certain amount of trial and
error is sometimes required to discover the best stepsize. Too small a change
between key frames will waste cpu time and produce very slow motion; too
big a change will produce fast and/or jerky (discontinuous) motion.
"Repeated frames" User Input Field
------------------------------
Specify the number of instances of each computed frame. A "1" implies NO
REPEATED FRAMES. Repeated frames reduce the computation required to fill
a given segment of time, at the expense of motion smoothness. For most
purposes, the value should be left at 1. If the intent is to generate a
24 frame-per-second movie sequence, but only 12 frames-per-second are to
be computed, then a value of 2 would be used. For TV footage, a value of
2, resulting in the computed imagery changing at 15 times-per-second,
could be useful.
"Apply" Button
-------------
None of the above parameter changes take affect unless or until this button
has been pressed.
"Close" Button
------------
Closes the Interpolation window and takes no action. Only the Apply Button
invokes execution, using the latest parameter settings in the Panel.
Help" Button
-----------
Opens the text window you are reading.
